Hey, I’m Brenner. I’m an engineer, builder, and the founder of Crafted Motion. This site started as a way to share the kind of design ideas I kept sketching in notebooks but never had time to build in the real world.
I’m a 32-year-old engineer based in Illinois. I spent years working a regular day job and tinkering on builds in my garage on the weekends, mostly epoxy river tables, custom furniture, and small woodworking projects. In early 2026 I left the day job to focus full time on Crafted Motion, design content, and the YouTube channel.
What Crafted Motion Is
Crafted Motion is part design studio, part product review, part creative lab. There are two kinds of content you’ll find on this site:
- Practical buying guides, honest, hands-on roundups of products I would actually use or recommend. Think pergolas, standing desks, garage organization, outdoor lighting, fire pits, epoxy resin kits. I focus on what actually matters when you’re choosing one of these things, not just specs you can copy from a product page.
- Design concept articles, speculative, AI-assisted design ideas like sunken living rooms, biophilic patios, epoxy river tables, and unusual furniture. These articles use AI-generated imagery to visualize designs that may or may not be commercially available. I clearly label these as concept content so you know what you’re looking at.
Why I Use AI in My Workflow
I treat AI like any other tool in the shop. It helps me visualize ideas faster than sketching by hand and lets me explore what a design would look like before I commit to building it. The opinions, product picks, comparisons, and editorial choices on this site are all mine. The voice is mine. The experience behind the buying guides is mine.
I’m transparent about it because I think readers deserve to know exactly what they’re looking at. If an article shows AI-generated concept imagery, it says so. If it’s a real product I’ve researched and would buy, that’s clearly stated too.

- Real-world limitations and tradeoffs spelled out clearly

- Original concept imagery, not stock photos
